We are going paperless!

Both summer institutes will have an APP that you can download anytime and stay connected to the summer institutes as we continue preparing for these exciting events.  More information about the APPS is located at the bottom of this blog post.

Last week we opened registration and both institutes are now well over one-third to capacity. If you haven’t begun registering your team, I would strongly encourage you to do so as we will fill to capacity very soon.  To ensure that as many MI Excel districts as possible have access to the institutes we will have to cap registration per district to ten (10). As room opens, of course, we can add additional participants, but we won’t know full capacity until we get much closer to June and August.  In the meantime, register early.

In our continuing efforts to assist you in living and breathing systemic reconfiguration, we’re excited to share additional options for you to get REAL TIME support when you want to interact live with members of the SWFT.

Over the weekend, I was reading the latest edition of ASCD’s Educational Leadership magazine. The entire March edition is devoted to the power of instructional leadership. It’s definitely an edition worth looking at especially through the lens of the Blueprint’s Leadership Network and the learning-focused partnerships in particular. The entire edition seeks to redefine the work of building-level leadership as work to be done closer and closer to the classroom in order to successfully impact student learning.  Many of the ideas noted in this edition are powerful. There’s a particularly interesting article about the power of principals and instructional coaches working together to accelerate student learning. I’ll explore that article in greater depth in today’s edition of Blueprint Symposium.

I was struck, however, that the majority of these amazing articles focused on building-level principals. The Blueprint’s Leadership Network is powerful because it transcends the typical central office walk through and establishes partnerships between central office and building-level administrators to actually DO the work that accelerates student, teacher, and leader performance.  The system creates layers of support for these partnerships, redesigns central office to support these partnerships, and establishes policies and procedures to sustain the power of these partnerships. Our principals, just like our teachers, need systemic support in order to utilize the systems we create with the Blueprint’s installation and to align their practices to the routines we seek to put organically into place.

So I couldn’t help but wonder how all the great ideas, great thinking, and great work in that edition of Educational Leadership could be even more powerful and impactful if they were embedded into the systemic installation of the Blueprint’s Leadership Network.  So take a look at this month’s edition. It’s definitely a good read and definitely worth some great thinking. And take a moment to reflect about the quality and depth of your learning-focused partnerships. Are they were you want them to be? What can you do to better support your building principals?  Is the time you are spending in your partnership, a building walk-through, or is it powerful collaboration, coaching and growth for both of you?

As we deepen our work in the Blueprint’s Leadership Network, we accelerate the district’s ability to change practice and utilize systems at scale.  It’s yet again, another powerful disruption.

Let’s save children’s lives today. They are counting on us.

We are in the process of doing massive updates to the Online Warehouse.  In doing so, you may notice that certain folders will temporarily be “under construction” as we do this work.  Each time something goes down it shouldn’t be down for very long at all. This work will start this tomorrow and we are intending to be as intense as possible in order to get it all done as quickly as possible.

Registration is OPEN
