This session will focus on the opportunity for districts to forge and communicate a new identity after the disruption caused by prolonged school closure. Participants will explore how to use the lessons learned to impact who you will become as districts, as leaders and as teachers. The session will emphasize the interconnectedness of people, systems and routines to increase your chances of long-term success improving student learning.

Instructional Infrastructure: What’s Essential

Participants will develop an understanding of how a guaranteed and viable curriculum, through the identification of essential standards, learning targets, proficiency scales, common assessments, and pacing, effectively create the foundation for high quality instruction to occur. If you are working on the Teaching for Learning strand for your Title I audit, this is the session for you!

District, building and teacher leaders play a critical role in not only sustaining change but in building the urgency and momentum to continue moving forward. In this session, participants will explore purposeful practices to build collective efficacy within the district and building networks to sustain change.

Instructional Framework: How Do I Deliver a Guaranteed & Viable Curriculum

Participants will engage in learning around approaches to embedding high quality instruction into daily practice as they connect to a guaranteed and viable curriculum. This session will explore the use of instructional models that align to content-specific teacher and student actions. Monitoring tools which inform small system cycles will also be explored.

Using the Blueprint Framework to Support the Whole Child

District, building & teacher leaders are responsible for supporting the social, emotional, and academic growth of students.The Whole Child initiative identifies five tenets: healthy, safe, supported, challenged and engaged designed to measure how well schools are serving students. In this session, participants will use these tenets to explore structures necessary to support students as well as the tools that may be used for measuring growth and responding to need.

In this session, participants will explore the purposeful practices that teacher teams engage in to best support improved learning outcomes for students, as well as the structures that make these practices happen on a daily basis.

Implementing District and School-wide Social Emotional Learning

In this session, participants will learn about evidence related to the importance of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) for staff and students. We will explore CASEL resources for high-quality systemic implementation of SEL, and find practical ways to make our state-adopted SEL competencies an integral part of every student’s education.
